When can I ride the donkey?
You can climb whenever the Donkeys are available with the mule drivers. Almost always because we are following the cruise ship's program.

How safe is the tour with the donkey?
a) In the tours you are always accompanied by an experienced mule-drivers-Member of our Association, who are trained for the safety of the rider and the provision of first aid and for the other guests on the island of Santorini.

What is the contribution of the Union to the tourism development of the island?
The Union of donkeys at Thera Island covers much of the island's visibility to visitors, since one of the first contacts of tourists from the cruise ships are with the members of our association, because many visitors prefer the ascent from the old harbor to Fira by the old traditional way, with the little donkey. So we make sure to offer our hospitable character, always for the good of the island. Also part of our profits are used, in addition to the care of our animals, and for the improvement and maintenance of reception facilities and for the trails in our area.
What about health rules at the Excursion tours Area?
It is our daily obligation, the control for the rules of the Animal Health and surrounding area. We are making frequent repeat examinations (at least twice a year), from special health authority, thus accomplishing the receipt and use of appropriate permits and licenses for the proper use of our animals.

What else characterizes the Donkeys of Santorini?
The donkeys of Santorini have obvious ecological character, Environment Friendly, since they do not pollute the environment and their dirt are used for farms on the Island. In a nutshell we apply for years, voluntary recycling. Our Association has and cleaning staff to cares the paths and to remove other garbage.
Who owns the Donkeys?
Mules, horses and donkeys of our Union, owned by local families-Santorini's residents who grew up with the institution of mule drivers and their experience passed down from generation to generation.
